Things That Are So Fall Coded

Did you know fall officially starts tomorrow? I cannot wait for sweater weather. If you really want to lean into everything there is to love during the fall, this post is for you!

Apple and pumpkin coffee/chai flavors

The only time of the year you can get these flavors. It’s easy to get tired of your usual go-to drink so I suggest making a seasonal coffee order. Sometimes the new flavors are high in calories, below are different ways to bring it down while keeping the taste intact:

  • Sugar free syrups

  • Add Splenda as a substitute

  • Almond or oat milk instead of whole milk

Not sure which one you might like? Here’s a list of a few you must try:

Niche, but, wearing a sweater specifically with your hair in some sort of braid

Not only do I love the feeling of pulling out all of my sweaters, but I adore getting to do fun braids in my hair that just make fall feel that much more special. It’s still not too cold that my ears will freeze and I can style with a fun ribbon or headband. Of course you can do this in the summer, but I think that gives more of an “athletic vibe” whereas this is cute with no effort.

Pulling out your Uggs for the first time

I hate tying my shoes. It can be so annoying at times but I have to when it’s warm. I never like to wear sandals around campus because they don’t support my feet as well. However, my Uggs I can just slip onto my feet. Nothing is better than feeling the cloud like soles with the warmth of the fur. Plus, it gets very cold on campus. You need something to keep you warm during the long walks from class to class. If you don’t have a pair already, you really should invest.

Pro tip: put a water resistant spray on them or they will turn out like this…

Lighting vanilla, hazelnut, pumpkin scented candles

I love when my room’s scent matches the season. It immediately makes the place feel cozier and inviting. Lighting a candle while doing homework or cleaning just instantly sets the mood. It makes even the most boring tasks feel a little more special.

Living in the library studying for exams

Something about fall screams the library. First exams, finals, quizzes all happen in the fall. When spring semester rolls around most people like to study outside- but with the chills of Ohio weather come the end of October we don’t have that choice. There’s something oddly comforting about a cup of coffee, picking your favorite corner and everyone bundled up just trying to make it through. It’s one of the few times grinding actually feels… kind of aesthetic?

Carving/Painting pumpkins with friends

It’s a fall favorite. I love getting to do a craft that can only be done in a certain season. Carving or painting pumpkins is the fall craft. I love to use the pumpkin as cute, cheap, and seasonal decoration through the months of fall. It’s a fun way to spruce up your living area and give an excuse to hangout with some friends!

Evening walks

I always find myself doing more evening walks when I know they’re coming to a close. The colder it gets, the less I seem to go. However, for the first bit of fall, nothing is better than seeing the leaves change and a chill breeze on you. It’s the perfect reset button after an exhausting day.
