My Current Go-Tos

Lately, I’ve really been leaning into what I personally love. Whether it’s my style, daily habits, self care rituals, or mood-setting details. If you’re looking for new things to adopt into your life you need to check this out. These are the staples in my life I swear by right now:

Fashion Fixes

Currently obsessed with any and everything low-rise. It sits so perfectly- especially with a peplum top. Not sure what that is? Don’t worry, it’s about to become your new favorite.

One of the easiest ways to elevate an outfit is with accessories. I love a good micro-belt, it adds just enough detail without over-powering your outfit. But honestly, any belt will do the trick. The most practical accessory, in my opinion, is a small purse. Lately, I’ve been loving shoulder bags. It’s a plus to match it to my outfit, and I can throw in everything I need (aka lipgloss and my camera only). I’m also all about jewelry, especially rings. There’s just something about having rings on; it instantly pulls a look together, even with the most basic outfit. And french pins? So fun, so chic, and sooo many compliments every time I wear mine!

Daily Defaults

After a while, some things just come naturally.

I love starting my mornings by making my bed. Something about it just makes me feel so put together (even if I’m  definitely not).

Next, I always check my planner. It gives me that okay, I got this feeling to push through the day. Plus, crossing something off? Magical.

Anytime I get to do work outside, I swear it fuels my energy and mood. Whether I am sitting on a blanket in the greens, a porch swing at my college house, or one of the tables scattered around my campus- I just work better outside. It really is my biggest motivator.

One of my favorite ways to wind down for the night is picking my outfit for the next day. It’s fun, low-stress, and saves me from the chaos the next morning of: I have nothing to wear! It’s a small thing, but it always makes me feel more put together for the next day.

Feel-Good Favs

Having clear skin makes me feel so confident. There’s just something about that glowy, healthy look that lifts my mood. But I’ll be honest… if a skincare routine takes more than five minutes, I’m out. I’ve found that keeping a simple routine is not only better for my skin, but more likely that I will stick to it. Right now I just use a toner, collagen serum and a moisturizer. That’s it. No complicated 10-step routine, just one that works. Some affordable brands I love and use often are:

  • Good Molecules

  • Bubble

  • CeraVe

  • E.L.F. Skin

Another thing that makes me feel good? Super cute, effortless hairstyles. I’m all about the 5 minute styles that make it seem like I tried. Lately, some go-tos have been double braids with a hat (great for hiding day 3 hair), messy bun, quick braids with my hair down, and messy ponytails with a middle part.

Doing my nails at home has started to become a little tradition for me. Not only is it super affordable, it’s fun. I love being able to sit down with a chill playlist, candle burning, and do something creative. Plus it’s always nice to look down and feel a little more polished, even when I’m just in lounge clothes.

My Peace Picks

A peaceful day is exactly what I need with the stress of school, and I’m sure you can relate. One of my go-to ways to unwind is lighting a candle in the evening. Pro tip: have a special scent for the season or activity to feel extra cozy and intentional!

I also love to put a playlist on while doing my work. Having some soft background noise really helps me focus. Spotify has some of the best, I created one from there. Go check it out for your next study sesh.

Getting steps in during the school year is easy… but let’s be honest, walking from class to class isn’t very fun. That’s why I started taking evening walks while the sun sets. I’ll stop and find a place to sit, have a snack, talk with a friend, or catch up on emails. Just being outside for an hour really lifts my mood- try it out!
